Garment Gleaning

Two reclaimed garments, sorted into piles. From right to left:

-Large pieces to use in quilts 

-Buttons (I don't always keep them, but these were ones I will use)

-Usable scraps- for mending, potholders or improv quilting

-Seams, pieces with interfacing (I don't like hand quilting through it), tags

I don't always discard the seams- sometimes I'll pick the stitches out and unfold each piece of fabric. But both of these garments were a little worn at the seams, so I cut them out instead.

The green fabric was a cotton/linen blend vintage dress of mine. Like a lot of my linen clothing I had thrifted it to quilt with and then realized it fit me ;) Here's what it looked like whole:
