Thrifting

Things I try to look for when thrifting:

For me

-Linen garments in solid colors around my size. I’m pretty good at eyeballing fit, but if they don’t get worn they will end up in a quilt. Sometimes even if they do get worn they’ll eventually end up in a quilt. This time a thick, black, linen skirt with pockets.

- 100% cotton waffle-weave/thermals. Part of my perennial cold weather costume :) I haven’t had a black one in a few years.

-Wool or wool blend basics. I like to be swathed in wool Fall-Spring. Those wool pants needed their liner hemmed, and a bit of darning, but I’ve been wearing them non-stop now that they’re mended. The red union suit is wool on the outside, cotton on the inside, and will be my third of its kind. One of my favorite garments in existence.

For quilts

- Sheets in patterns that catch my eye. I’ve had those striped sheets several times over the years, in varying degrees of fade. Those blousy tulips are new to me, and I’m really into them.

For fun

- Solid wood cutting boards. I love to clean them up! Is this… a hobby?

- Nice vintage sweatshirts. I’m gonna put something on this one, and the color is really challenging me to reach outside of my comfort zone. Maybe I should wear it for a bit first to get used to it ;)
