January

Sun shines through a window with its curtain pulled back. The light casts shadows from the windowsill cacti onto a blue and red drawing of a sheep, hung over the radiator.

In January the sunlight becomes everything to me.

Discarded strips of orange peel have been placed over ink drawings of faces to create orange hair.

It’s impossible to be bored if you can draw. Drawing is magic :) Citrus too.

Colorful blankets hang in chaos on a thrift store rack. Pink price tags are stapled to some. Front and center is a crocheted blanket made of rose-like squares with red flowers in the center, surrounded by green and white.

A beauty left behind, but thought of often afterwards.

A white framed mirror leans against the wall. In front of it is a maroon and navy runner. In the mirror the body of a person is visible, bent kneed and wearing cropped black pants and clogs.

Fit check!

A large USPS box full of colorful quilts perches on the trunk of a silver car. In the background is a yellow brick building with bare tree branches reflected in the windows.

10,000 stitches. Maybe an exaggeration, although the calluses on my finger tips think it sounds reasonable.

A white drying rack stands over a squat sliver radiator. On it is a blue and white vintage sweater whose fluff is illuminated by the sun. Behind it are two windows, with a variety of plants of the windowsills. Outside bare trees are visible.

Drying rack hack!!

A partially knit grey balaclava is laid out on a chartreuse green sheet. To the left are the wool sock clad feet of the knitter.

Four days too sick to knit, then this balaclava became my companion while I rested in bed.
