A few weeks ago I was running my fingertips over this hemp linen that Kellen sent me and thinking what a good doll it would make. And then I blinked and it was over, I was down the rabbit hole, freehand cutting body shapes based on not a lot more than an inkling. I was aiming for a bear, then a rabbit and then in the end he* was just cute and well proportioned and I spent a happy two days humming around constructing tiny articles of clothing and piecing a little quilt.

Project notes: Sepa was made from mostly linen scraps, with some pink cotton in his ears and linen quilting thread for his eyes and nose. He is stuffed with wool (felted sweater bits leftover from making potholders) His quilt is pieced from linen and cotton scraps, and his clothes are also all from the scrap bag.

Note: I have no current plans to sell dolls. And I'm not planning to make a tutorial because my lovely friends already have! I made a similarly constructed doll at summer camp 42 lifetimes ago, so I drew on that experience for the construction of Sepa.

*Sepa was named and gendered by his 5 year old companion who, as 5 year olds will do, surprised and delighted me with her choices. (Technically he was named by her mice family, but they seem to listen closely to what she says, like good little mice)
